Happy St. Patrick's Day! ☘️

As a proud Irish-American, I have enjoyed wearing the green and witnessing the city of Chicago pull out all the stops to celebrate all things Irish over the past week. I'm proud of my heritage and the sacrifices my great-grandparents made to make a better life for themselves in America.

The holiday also has me thinking about luck. During many of our interviews, clients express how lucky they have been in life, whether considering the way their career has turned out, or how their family has flourished over the years. It's a sweet and humble sentiment, and acknowledges how much of our life is really up to chance. Whether it's a lucky break in one's career, or being in the right place at the right time to meet a special someone, LUCK is an interesting concept to reflect on.

But ask anyone who has enjoyed success in life, and they will agree that luck alone is not enough. To find real success and happiness, it takes a combination of hard work, dedication, resiliency, and making the most of the luck we are given.

This month, ask yourself or a loved one:

  • What lucky breaks have you experienced?

  • What role has fate or good fortune played in your career, your marriage, or your life in general?

I'll leave you with this Irish blessing:

May the luck of the Irish enfold you,

and the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.

May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light,

may good luck pursue you each morning and night.

For each petal on the shamrock, this brings a wish your way:

Good health, good luck, and happiness for today and every day!
