Reading about the patriotism and sacrifices these brave women and men made for this country was humbling and surprising.
The section dedicated to the women's effort, including the military arms of the WAACs and the WAVES, made me proud to be a woman.
The hardcover version is 464 pages, but the photos in this book are worth a thousand more words. The then/now images are fun to examine, looking for glimpses of their former selves in their storied faces.
